Situated between the Avalon neighborhood to the North and the National Cemetery to the south, the Brentwood neighborhood is a classic 1950’s subdivision with uniform homes, it’s own small park in the back and commercial area at the entrance. Brentwood homes reflect the consistency of a well-planned development. Homes range in size between approximately 1,100 – 1,300 sq.ft. (if original) on 4,500-5,000 sq.ft. lots. Corner lots of course boast bigger areas.
About the neighborhood
Brentwood harkens back to a simpler time and boasts cute old English-esque “wood” street names (Sherwood, Rockwood, Hazlewood, Wildwood, Manor). Traffic is all local, as the neighborhood is fed by only two ingresses – Hazelwood Dr. and Brentwood Dr.

Brentwood homes are primarily single story, although there are a few split-level homes sprinkled around to take advantage of the gentle slope of the area. Of course there are those that have been added on to over the years. Stucco and wood-clad exteriors, classical trim and some front porches remind us of 1950’s living.
The South San Francisco High School is just a short minute north on El Camino Real. Westborough Middle School, Alta Loma Middle School and Parkway Heights Middle Schools serve the area too. Ponderosa Elementary School at 295 Ponderosa Road is the closest elementary school, and another nearby school is Los Cerritos Elementary School.
